My birthday tomorrow

It’s my birthday tomorrow and already I have had some presents. When we went to see my mum on Saturday, she gave me a lovely vase, dish with lid, candle and book by Helen Dunmore.

And tonight when I got home from work, these were waiting for me on the doorstep from my daughter…..aren’t they lovely?

Saturday 28th June – Harry’s birthday

Yesterday ]Sat 28th June] was Harry’s birthday and so we went down to the Leigh on Sea folk festival to see a band he enjoys called Slow Loris. Slow loris opened the festival in the library gardens. It was quite good but the sound quality wasn’t very good and I’ve heard them do better.

After that we met up with some friends and went to a pub on the high street for a drink. It was there I spotted these:

And here is the birthday boy himself enjoying a pint:

Friday 27th June

Had my blood test today. The woman managed to get the blood [ all 4 tubes of it] first go so that was good. The feeling of relief as I left was great….just need to wait 2 weeks for the results now.

Sian, my daughter is moving from Chesterfield back to Norwich to live with her dad. As a result she is decluttering her house as all her processions need to fit into two cars next weekend. She has sold a lot of her craft materials through various forums she belongs to but still has loads left. She has now put a massive job lot on ebay.

This is just a small proportion of what she is selling. Someone is going to get a real bargain.

Thursday 26th June

Have been to the doctors this morning and he has put up my medication and has given me the paper work for a blood test. Tomorrow I’ll have to be brave and go to the hospital for the test. Not looking forward to it as they can never seem to find a vein.

Went and got my prescription at Tescos and managed to get my self two of the limited edition Cath Kidston bags in the blue spotted fabric. They didn’t have any of the flower patterned ones.

Sunday 22nd June

Feeling very tired and rather down I decided a few minutes ago to take some photos of the garden:

And of the woods at the end of the garden:

Crabtree and Evelyn free gift

Had a lovely surprise today when I got home from work

Easy living mag had a free bag this month which I got and also had an offer to subscribe for a year for £12 and you got a free gift of 300ml Crabtree and Evelyn handcream and 300ml soap  both in pump sprays in a green metal wire container so I subscribed. When I got home today the free gift was on the doorstep.  The handcream is lovely….really strong smell of lavender. Haven’t tried the soap yet.

Have looked on the Crabtree and Evelyn website and the two sprays together are worth £21.

Thursday 19th June

Not sure what’s wrong but am not feeling too good today. Have sorted out the timetabling of the English dept for next year. Have put it down for a while but will check it carefully on Monday before I send it to the guy who sorts out the whole school timetable. No doubt there will be some who aren’t pleased but as they say ‘you can’t please everyone all the time’.

Have a Heads of English meeting tomorrow which means I can leave the house later than usual….few more minutes in bed…..yipee!!

Having the conservatory full of kitchen items is beginning to get me down. Must try and rearrange it so we can use the room again, as I think the kitchen is going to take all summer to finish.
