Saturday 30th August

Here I am sitting here all alone and without and motivation to do anything. Really I should be tiding up and cleaning ready for when I return to school on Monday.  Harry has gone to dance at the Faversham Hop Festival and I said I’d stay at home and get a few things done. Somehow I wish I’d gone now as I can’t seem to get any enthusiasm for cleaning. Am trying the read a chapter and then do a job trick but the book is being read but the jobs aren’t getting done….oh dear!

Tuesday 26th August

Have spent the last 4 days at the Shrewsbury Folk Festival.

We had an amazing time, not least because we managed to camp with 19 other people we know from around the country. It became a great social event and we had some very late nights sitting in the gazebos chatting and drinking. This photo was taken on Sunday night/ Monday morning at 3am just after everyone had retired to bed.

As well as lots of great music there were morris dance displays under what was called the village stage.

Unfortunately the weather wasn’t kind to us all the time :

Wednesday 20th August

Rather silly isn’t it? Here I am with all the time in the world because it’s the school holidays and I haven’t posted for 12 days.

Not quite sure where all the time has gone, except now the house is a lot tidier and slightly more organised, I’ve read about 10 books, made the cushion pads for the kitchen chairs and done quite a lot of school preparation.

Sunday, we went to Norwich to pick up Sian, Joe and my ex so that we could go to visit Sam and the fete at The Rookery. Fortunately the sun shone and we only had a couple of spits of rain.

Today I’m off to Taverham Garden and Craft Centre near Norwich with Sian. I want to look at all the material and treat myself to some bits. Sian is then coming back to Ipswich with me as we are going to a festival this weekend.

Friday 8th August

The school holidays seem to be passing very quickly….only another 3 weeks left and I have so much I want to achieve.

Today I need to go and get some seat pads for my chairs in the kitchen, that I’m revamping. I tried using a cushion pad but it wasn’t right, so I’m hoping this will be better.

I also need to spend some time reorganising the craft room as its so full of bits I can’t really use it fully. Have decided to clear out some papers etc that I never use and have offered them to a craft group on my local freecycle. Freecycle is wonderful as I’m able to get rid of items knowing that someone else will benefit from that item. In the past I would have held on to the item as I hate waste.

Wednesday 6th August

Went back to the doctors today to receive back the results of my second blood test,  Unfortunately it confirmed the result of the first test……I have high blood sugar levels which is an indication of Type 2 diabetes.  I now have to make a real effort to lose weight and exercise more and will be tested again in 4- 6 weeks.  It does however explain some of the other symptoms I have had lately….tiredness, blurred vision, itching skin ,and dry mouth.

Tuesday 5th August

Sorry its been so long since I didi an update but we have been away

Today, it’s my first at home day of the school holidays and I intend spending it getting it into kind of order. We broke up from school on the 22nd but on the 23rd at 5 am, we left home in our campervan to go to the Trowbridge Pump festival. We followed that with a few days in Winchester and ended our holiday at the Stokes Bay festival. Now its back to reality and the dreaded housework and sorting. There’s loads to do, I can promise you…………

As soon as I get time I’ll down load the holiday snaps and post some here:

And here are a few photos. ….First Trowbridge Village Pump festival:

Then on to Winchester:

And Arthur’s Round Table-

And finally Stokes Bay Festival:

Yes , they are real sun flowers!

We heard Tony Benn talk. He is still amazing at the age of 83!

And were able to see some of the Cowes regatta
